Avington Park House

Avington Park is a private home which lends itself for a variety of corporate functions as well as the most spectacular parties. It was transformed in the late 17C for Charles II to come and stay, and therefore the rooms were laid out for entertainment.

St. John’s House

St. John’s House is a Grade 1 listed building with a fabulous 18th Century Assembly Room. Here the wealthy citizens of the day attended balls, dinners and concerts by prominent musicians including Niccolo Paganini and Franz Liszt. Much of the original 18th Century stucco plasterwork still remains and is a fine example of Regency craftsmanship.

The Assembly Room provides a superb venue for wedding receptions, conferences and other social and business functions. Side rooms are also available for buffets, private dining and smaller business meetings.

Most of the ground floor dates from the mediaeval era. A chapel dedicated to St. Mary was built in 1332; part of which still survives in the building. The main structure was added on to the side of St. John’s Hospital in the 14th Century. This ‘Undercroft’ has now been transformed into a high quality café venue, which is also available for hire.

Cams Hall

A 300-year-old Grade II listed mansion, sited amid parkland overlooking Portsmouth Harbour, has been unstintingly restored to its original Georgian splendour. During the week Cams Hall serves as a business centre and is therefore maintained to the highest corporate, country house standards. Now it is also licensed for a select number of weddings on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year.

Thanks to the ingenuity of the original architect, Jacob Leroux, Cams Hall creates a stunning first impression. As your guests approach via the long, private drive, their first glimpse will be of the Portland Stone frontage as it appears to rise from the ground in greeting. Passing inside, the chandeliered entrance hall, sweeping marble staircase and exquisite Adam-style Oval Room, where your ceremony will take place, will provide the setting for your most treasured memories.

Cams Hall is perfect for the discerning couple wishing to avoid the hustle and bustle of a public building. The Oval room accommodates up to 60 guests. The use of the house may be extended with a marquee in the grounds for receptions. Bespoke menus on request
